Welcome to Azille Maison
Experience French provincial life at its best!
Azille Maison is an historic terrace house fronting a quiet pedestrian street located in the heart of the medieval town centre of Azille. The house is well over 300 years old with exterior walls dating back to the 12th Century and in past centuries was the site of a blacksmith workshop and forge. Azille Maison is restored and renovated to provide period ambiance along with modern living amenities, and is offered for rent as a gîte (French for holiday let) .
The house is a three storey cottage with three bedrooms and two bathrooms, sleeping up to 6 people, with several spaces for relaxing inside plus an inviting large, sunny and sheltered private courtyard at the rear.
Linen and bathroom towels are supplied as part of the rental and the house is fully equipped for a comfortable stay. Free wifi is provided for guests. Parking is only metres from the front door.
A house with great character and ambiance, Azille Maison has been tastefully renovated to retain many original features while providing all the comforts of modern accommodation.
The front door of the house takes you into a large entranceway/living space with a wood heater.
Through the entranceway is a spacious and comfortable living/dining area (35m2) including a dining table that will comfortably seat six people.
There is a television and DVD player. A stereo with CD player, radio and docking station for iPods, iPhones, iPads and other devices is available to use.
The fully equipped kitchen is also off the dining area, and contains an electric stove, oven, a microwave/grill, fridge, dishwasher and washing machine.
A doorway from the living/dining room leads to the sunroom, with its glass roof, where you can relax and enjoy the light ambience.
Off the sunroom is a cellier/utility room with a large second fridge for guest use.
To the left at the top of the stairs is the main/master king-bed room (15m2) with an ensuite (shower, basin and toilet). From this bedroom there is a door directly onto the terrace. The central bathroom (with shower) is also on this floor.
The master bedroom, ensuite and the central bathroom all have traditional terracotta floor tiles.
Straight ahead at the top of the stairs is a large landing with a couch, table and chairs, which is a cool space for relaxing.
Stairs up from the first floor take you to the spacious second floor landing which has chairs for relaxing and bookshelves, and overlooks the street.
To the left from the top of the stairs is a comfortable queen bedroom (14m2) with a window looking out over the street.
Around from the right from the top of the stairs, the twin/king bedroom (20m2) has two single beds that can convert into a large king-size bed depending on guest requirements. This room looks out over the private courtyard and also has a very nice view of the church tower.
Private Courtyard & Terrace
Outside, through the sunroom, is the well protected private courtyard with a table and large umbrella and a barbeque. This is a fabulous space for sheltered outdoor dining. The courtyard has sun for much of the day, and is very protected. There is also a covered area in the courtyard for extra shade if needed.
A stairway rises from the courtyard up to a small first floor terrace, outside the main bedroom. The terrace provides a second outdoor area and is sunny for most of the day.
